Favorite IIDA event: The Sponsorship Appreciation Event! I can not say enough about how amazing our sponsors are! They make it possible for us to provide everyone with value for their membership and I enjoy this opportunity to personally thank them and provide them with value for their membership, as well.
Favorite Portland Restaurant: Depends on the season! For summer, I prefer La Taq on Killingsworth. This place has amazing tacos (that you don’t have to wait in line for!), delicious margaritas and cozy outdoor seating. During the dark winters, I prefer the warming atmosphere and warm udon bowls offered a Biwa. Hot tip: if you go after 9pm and sit at the counter you can get a bowl of ramen or udon for $5!
On a typical Saturday where can we find you?: In Forrest Park! The best amenity in this city! Check-it out!
Interesting fact: I like old TV shows and am currently trying to catch up on shows I heard are great but haven’t seen or haven’t seen in a while! I enjoy watching them to gain an understanding about social norms of the time as well as for their entertainment value. In the past 2 years I have made it through Twin Peaks, Wings, Cheers, Star Trek (original series and Next Generation), half of Coach and I am currently on season 5 of the Cosby Show.
Why are you a member of IIDA?: First and foremost, I believe in the mission of IIDA and appreciate it’s dedication to the Interior Design profession. Being a member and being involved in the chapter allows for me to take an active role in supporting this. IIDA has given me the opportunity to develop new skills at an expedited rate, from which I have benefited professionally. And finally…because our chapter is simply amazing! The supportive and design rich culture created by our members and partners is unparalleled.
