Company / Position: Ankrom Moisan Architects / Associate Interior Designer
Years of Experience: 10 years
IIDA member for: 1.5 years
Favorite IIDA event: Last year’s Winter Board Retreat at Camp Namanu was definitely pretty fun. It provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with other Members of the IIDA Oregon Chapter Board and take a more active role in planning for the chapter, all while in a placid wilderness setting. Truth be told though, I’m really looking forward to the upcoming Design Excellence Awards in October. I missed out in 2015, and have been waiting for my chance to attend this year!
Why do you support interior design licensing?: It’s important for our profession to be able to act independently, and not remain unduly beholden to the approval of uninvolved outside parties.
What does being a designer mean to your life?: I’ve been working in the design industry in one form or another since before I had a driver’s license, so being a professional designer means the world to me. I find it difficult to not have a constant creative outlet at work, and in my personal life.
What is your personal mantra?: Stop Taking Breaks
On a typical Saturday where can we find you?: Since moving into my house, you’ll probably find me doing yard work. Or at the office working on a deadline. If I’m lucky I’ll be straight chillin’ with my cats: Sam and Gary. Even though they’re cats, they’re still my dawgs.
